Publication

Accepted abstracts will be available on the conference website, and participants will have the opportunity to contribute by very high quality papers to a special collection titled Novel Trends in Rheology 2027, to be published in the journal Physics of Fluids. Manuscripts must be prepared according to the publisher’s guidelines and submitted via the publisher’s website. All submitted manuscripts will undergo a rigorous peer-review process managed by the editorial staff of Physics of Fluids. The submission window will be open from March 1 to October 31, 2027, for both invited and contributed submissions.

Scope statement for the special collection

Special collection titled Novel Trends in Rheology 2027 focuses on the latest theoretical and experimental advances in the rheology and dynamics of complex fluids, with emphasis on polymeric materials and complex polymer-based systems. Special attention will be paid to understanding the interrelationship between material structure, rheological behavior, and flow conditions including the effects of flow domain shape, temperature, pressure, composition, flow-induced crystallization and fractionation, flow intensity, slip, fluid memory, elasticity, and deformation history. The main aim of this collection is to advance our understanding of the dynamics and underlying physics of polymer-based viscoelastic fluids, particularly in relation to process flows encountered in next-generation processing technologies.

Topics of interest for the special collection include but are not limited to:

  • Non-Newtonian fluid mechanics and flow instabilities
  • Novel rheological techniques
  • Rheology and dynamics of complex fluids with emphasis on polymer melts, solutions, copolymers, composites, blends, gels, rubbers and suspensions
  • Modeling of polymer processing flows
  • Applied rheology
